Singing in the shower

ta ta ta ta ta tadaaa da ta ta ta tada you’re a needy giiirl. That was last night before getting drunk at some burlesque party in my underwear.

My head hurts, so I've been searching for mellow music (not a very difficult endeavor). Here is something lovely: Donato Wharton - Trabanten. I guess devoted to the incredible bit of East-German engineering seen below:

Trabanten reminds me a lot of Four Tet and Koushik, except hopefully DW won't venture into any horrible, horrible hip hop remixes.

Some songs:

Donato Wharton - Built to Fail
Donato Wharton - Silvester

I can't believe the latter didn't make the Valentine's Day mix. It's really pretty.

If you think you can handle it, here is a Trabant commercial courtesy of the WFMU blog. First car I ever drove, no joke.

if you knew anything about music, youd know that koushiks, as well as four tets "hip hop remixes" are amazing. sorry.

Good Four Tet remixes:

Bonobo - Pick Up
Manitoba - 219 Beverley

Both Four Tet and Koushik remixed the Madvillainy album, likely because their labels thought it would sell, and in both cases it's wretch. Can't fuck with Madlib beats. I also don't get what Koushik is doing on Stone's Throw.

On the other hand, it's strange that Madlib, being the head bossman of Stone's Throw, likely commissioned the remixes.

Stan, don't couple me in with the first statement. You know more about music and the producing aspect then is good for you.-jeff

madlib did not commission kieran...they had mutual love for one another...egon (label big shot) and madlib loved the pause record (as well as start breaking my heart by manitoba) thats basically the reason they signed koush.

not to hurt anyones feelings, but i made the first statement.

That's fair, both records are stellar (Four Tet's & Manitoba's). I just think Koushik's sound is not consistent with Stone's Throw's jazzy hip hop. And while I'm not questioning the brilliance of those involved, I still think the Madvillainy remixes don't do justice to the original. Also, my feelings are not easily hurt. Leave your name even if I don't know you.

again we find ourselves in a bit of a disagreement. i definitily wouldnt label stones throw as jazzy hip-hop. in fact, name even one record from the label that is.
sure, madlibs yesterdays new quintet records are jazz in the truest sense, but the beats on the label or more psychedelic or abstract if anything, but they all vary. koushiks a perfect fit (which blend all of the above)

p.s if we're keeping score, you offend quite easily. ive posted several comments on this board that never get to see the light of day.

p.s.s four tet never remixed
218 beverley. it appeared on his late night tales, but he never touched it.

Alright. I have like four 12" and maybe four full lengths, plus random stuff on mp3, altogether covering approx. 7 artists. Apparently there are a lot more. You are beautiful and virtuous and clearly more familiar with the Stone's Throw catalogue.

I publish all constructive comments, that is, those not consisting of 'QUASIMOTO IS GAY' or things on that wavelength. I'm happy that you read this and comment, and I don't mind being corrected, but please be constructive.

It's really a shame that I got into this mysterious, deeply underground label so recently and that I only know the mainstream artists. This stems from the fact that I know nothing about music and listen to bloopy shit. You know me very well, and I guess that's why you read my blog religiously.

You are so tappy.
